Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center in Houston seeks a Transplant Financial Counselor to coordinate financial resources for Transplant and/or VAD patients, ensuring financial readiness and continuity of care.

You will work with patients and families from evaluation through post-transplant care, answering insurance questions and documenting financial information in the EMR, while adhering to policies and cost reporting requirements.

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED with four years of related transplantation experience.
• Two options: high school graduate with four years of related transplantation experience, or GED with four years of related transplantation experience.
• Other candidates may be considered with equivalent experience in transplantation.

• Discusses benefits and other financial issues with patients and/or family members during initial evaluation.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Transplant Financial Counselor, you will be an essential member of the transplant team, coordinating financial resources for Transplant and/or VAD patients. Your role ensures financial readiness and continuity of care for patients and their families.

Every day you will work with patients/families to coordinate financial resources from evaluation through post-transplant care. You'll answer insurance questions, provide multidisciplinary recommendations on financial candidacy, and adhere to departmental policies for charges and Medicare Cost Report. You will establish financial expectations for patients/guarantors, ensuring accurate information for efficient account processing.

To be successful, you will demonstrate strong financial counseling expertise, exceptional communication, and meticulous attention to detail regarding insurance and cost reporting. A deep understanding of transplant financial requirements, collaborative teamwork, and a compassionate approach to patient support are essential.
