Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 2 years experience in transplant or related field.
• Ability to anticipate and communicate patient financial needs.
• Expert knowledge of third-party insurance medical benefits and billing.
• Maintain confidentiality and understand patient rights.
• Knowledge of oncology-specific treatments and insurance coverage.

Responsibilities

• Performs financial screening of patients for transplantation, including coverage and costs.
• Discusses benefits and transplant financial concerns with patients during evaluation.
• Advises patients on insurance and billing issues; assists with coverage gaps.
• Obtains payor authorizations, pre-certifications, and referrals; liaises with case managers.
• Keeps up to date on regulations to maximize financial coverage and reimbursements.
• Monitors insurance data, physicians, authorizations, and provider information; assists patients.
