Job summary

HDR is seeking a Transmission/Distribution Engineer to contribute to the design, analysis, and project leadership for power delivery systems. You will work on transmission projects, applying NESC guidelines and using tools like PLS-CADD to ensure compliant, efficient solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 7+ years experience preferred.
  • Professional registration may be required based on role.

Responsibilities

  • Support section operations, including staff development, morale, quality control, and overall performance.
  • Serve as technical leader on select projects, contributing to project production and performance.
  • Ensure all work is planned, organized, managed, and executed through workplan development and utilization monitoring.
  • Act as Project Manager on transmission projects.
  • Engage directly with clients to support marketing efforts, project execution, and issue resolution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and reinforce company policies and best practices.
  • Support section operations, including staff development, morale, quality control, and overall performance.
  • Serve as a technical leader on select projects, contributing to project production and performance.
  • Ensure all work is effectively planned, organized, managed, and executed through workplan development and utilization monitoring.
  • Assist with administrative oversight of section staff and technical service functions, coordinating with other internal teams.
  • Serve as Project Manager on transmission projects.
  • Participate in marketing planning, proposal development, and client management activities.
  • Engage directly with clients to support marketing efforts, project execution, and issue resolution.
  • Assist in the selection, training, development, and management of technical personnel.
  • Collaborate with national leadership and marketing personnel on business development initiatives and workshare efforts.
  • Lead or support projects as a client lead and/or quality control reviewer.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient with NESC and understanding of client standards
  • Experience with project management responsibilities or leading client pursuits.
  • Comprehensive experience with all aspects of line design, including PLS-CADD, structure analysis, cost estimating, optimization, specifications, drawings, and development of engineering documentation.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 7 years experience
  • Professional registration, license or certification may be required based on role
  • Strong communication and listening skills
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments
  • Good leadership and organizational skills
