Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Environmental Planner/Siting Specialist to aid in routing and siting of electrical transmission projects for utilities and developers. The role involves writer support, proposal development, and plan implementation to move projects toward closure, with GIS capabilities viewed as a plus.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree in environmental fields, with about 5 years of industry experience, and a solid track record in environmental planning and documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience with routing and siting projects, NEPA documents or similar environmental assessment.
• Capable and confident technical writer.
• Understanding of GIS processes and capabilities; GIS expertise is a plus.
• Familiarity with energy infrastructure permitting is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Complete tasks according to approved scopes of work.
• Assist with routing and siting studies for energy projects and facilities.
• Contribute to proposals, pre-qualifications, and business development activities.
• Follow Health, Safety and Environment policies in all work.
