Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electric Transmission Siting Professional to support electric utility clients through planning, routing, siting, permitting, and stakeholder engagement for transmission projects. You will contribute to developing facilities including overhead/underground lines and substations, leading workstreams and guiding teams across engineering, environmental, and regulatory disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in planning, geography, environmental science, engineering, natural resources, real estate, public policy, or a related discipline (advanced degree or professional certification is beneficial).
• 4-8 years supporting electric transmission or other linear infrastructure projects, with demonstrated experience in route evaluation, permitting, and environmental planning.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and reviewing consultant deliverables.
• Working familiarity with utility siting, transmission permitting, agency coordination, landowner outreach, and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong technical writing, problem-solving, prioritization, and GIS/project-management tool skills.
• Willingness to travel periodically for site visits and project meetings.

Responsibilities

• Independently execute route, site, and constraint evaluations; apply professional judgment to identify opportunities, data gaps, and alternatives.
• Support landowner outreach, property research, access coordination, and right-of-way activities.
• Lead portions of client meetings, agency consultations, stakeholder discussions, and field activities
• Review junior staff work, providing task-level direction, coaching, and quality control
• Recommend solutions to routine technical, coordination, and project-management challenges while maintaining budget and schedule awareness.
