Entergy in Jackson, MS, seeks a Relay Field Ops Support Engineer I - Sr. to perform planning, design, maintenance, project management and restoration work in transmission systems.

The role supports various areas from grid design to asset management and reliability while collaborating across disciplines. The position requires a bachelor’s in electrical/computer engineering, with PE/FE preferred, and relevant experience levels from Engineer I to Sr.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering from a four-year accredited institution.
• PE or FE certification preferred or may be considered.
• 4+ years of experience for Engineer Sr. level; but multiple levels listed: Engineer I 0–2, II 2–4, III 4–6, Sr 6+.

Responsibilities

• Performs a wide variety of detailed engineering analysis in transmission-related areas including planning, maintenance, design, project management and construction, and operations.
• Applies engineering principles to solve problems, develop cost-effective, technically sound solutions, and improve products or services.
• Evaluates alternatives, interprets/apply relevant electrical codes, procedures, standards, processes and policies.
• Supports compliance with industry standards (NERC, SERC) and other utility regulations.
• Collaborates with other disciplines within Transmission and other company units to achieve goals; assists with storm/restoration efforts.
