Job Summary:

This position is responsible for rebuilding manual transmissions to company remanufacturing standards, inspecting used parts for reusability, and utilizing diagnostic tools to troubleshoot mechanical issues. Who We Are:

Weller Truck Parts began its history in Muskegon, Michigan in 1928 when Harry Weller, a small body shop owner, found value in recycled parts for the auto industry. The small business thrived so much that in 1949, Harry moved Weller Truck Parts to nearby Grand Rapids, MI. Since that time, Weller Truck Parts has continued to grow under the direction of the Weller family. • Rebuilds manual transmissions in accordance with company remanufacturing standards, ensuring high-quality performance.
• Inspects used parts and components, evaluating reusability based on established remanufacturing guidelines.
• Effectively employs diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues.
• Works collaboratively with a team of skilled technicians to optimize workflow and meet production goals.
• Conducts thorough quality inspections to ensure the finished products meet all required specifications.
• Operates press machines, torches, power tools, and hand tools with precision and safety.
• Adheres to safety protocols, always maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
• Demonstrates strong problem-solving abilities to address and resolve operational challenges.
• Maintains regular and punctual attendance as a key responsibility of the position.
• Completes additional tasks as assigned to support the team and operations.

Physical Requirements:

• Must stand for 8+ hours per day.
• Frequent walking.
• Hearing protection may be required in some areas.
• The ability to see fine details may be required during performance of some functions.
• Fine motor skills are required (finger / hand manipulation).
• May need to lift weight greater than 35 lbs. at times.
