Job summary

HDR is seeking a Transmission Line Senior Project Engineer in Glen Allen, VA. You will lead a multi-disciplined team, coordinate with design engineers, and maintain strong client relations while driving project execution from development through delivery.

Role requires a PE license, 10+ years in power-sector projects, and proficiency with PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe and Revit. HDR values an active employee-owned culture and collaboration.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Coordinate design engineers with a multi-discipline team across project development.
• Establish client relations and participate in meetings across marketing, design, and production.
• Serve as technical lead within a project execution team.
• Participate in reviews for code compliance with governing agencies.
• Lead design sessions at project sites with PM and other disciplines.
• Coordinate workload to meet project deliverables on schedule.
• Mentor other staff and direct activities of engineering professionals.

In the role of Transmission Line Senior Project Engineer, we’ll count on you to:

• Coordinate the work of design engineers with the balance of a multidiscipline team throughout the entire project's development
• Establish client relations and participate in marketing, design, and production meetings
• Assume technical lead within a project execution team
• Participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance
• Conduct schematic, design development and contract document work sessions at the project site in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplines
• Coordinate workload throughout the project to complete project deliverables on schedule
• Work with Project Manager and Project Controller on project reviews with management as needed
• Direct the activities of other engineering professionals and act as a mentor to other staff members as needed
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters degree in Engineering
• Previous experience with an engineering consulting firm
• Preference given to candidates currently residing near Glen Allen, VA

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• A minimum of 10 years of experience
• Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
• Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector
• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as standard Power Market Sector design software (examples include PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, and Revit)
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture
