Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to design and analyze transmission lines from 69kV to 765kV, developing sketches, foundations, and component specifications. You will model lines in PLS-CADD, assess right-of-way needs, and review vendor submittals.

The role supports hybrid work with three days in the office and two remote days, and may include relocation assistance depending on location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering preferred.
• ABET accreditation beneficial; FE exam and EIT desirable.
• Experience with transmission line design and utility projects.
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, AutoCAD, PoleForeman, ArcGIS.
• Strong MS Office and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design transmission lines in the 69kV to 765kV range.
• Prepare construction sketches for overhead and underground network services (4 KV through 34 KV).
• Perform structural analysis and design of pole, lattice, framed, and guyed structures.
• Perform foundation designs.
• Perform conductor selection studies, shielding, grounding and induction studies.
