Job summary

Southern Company seeks an experienced leader for the Transmission Line Design team within the Engineering Department of the Technical and Project Solutions group. The role oversees design, coordination, and support for transmission line projects in Georgia, including ITS-related work, and requires guiding construction activities and emergency restoration readiness.

The position emphasizes safety, team development, and adherence to Southern Company standards, with occasional travel and relocation

Qualifications

BS in Engineering strongly preferred (Civil, Mechanical or Electrical preferred) or 4-year technical degree with applicable experience.
Professional Engineering (P.E.) license is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Create a safe work environment through total personal commitment to safety.
Lead the activities of the Transmission Line Design group to ensure projects are designed efficiently and on schedule.
Select, develop, and manage the performance of departmental employees in both virtual and office settings.
Provide technical support to Transmission Maintenance & Construction personnel as requested.
Develop and maintain knowledge of transmission line design operations, guidelines, and procedures.
