Job summary

Davis H. Elliot Company, Inc. is seeking a Journeyman Lineman to install, construct, maintain and repair overhead electric transmission lines across Central to Eastern Kentucky.

The role requires a valid CDL Class A and medical card, with background and drug screening, and involves travel with potential overtime. Candidates should have 3–4 years of experience (4+ preferred) and a solid understanding of transmission systems, grounding, and safe work practices.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and CDL required.
• 3-4 years of experience required; 4+ years recommended.
• Must pass criminal background check and drug screening.
• Strong understanding of electrical transmission systems.

Responsibilities

• As a Journeyman Lineman you will install, construct, maintain, and repair overhead electric transmission lines.
• Work locations vary from Central to Eastern Kentucky with occasional overtime and travel.

Elliot is a full-service electrical contractor specializing in overhead and underground distribution, transmission, substations, lighting, traffic signaling, utility locating and industrial/commercial services.

As a Journeyman Lineman you will be performing the installation, construction, maintenance, and repair of overhead electric transmission lines. Work locations vary from Central to Eastern KY with occasional overtime and travel expected.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license, Class A CDL, and medical card required
• 3-4 years of experience required
• 4+ years of experience recommended
• Must provide references and or documentation verifying experience
• Strong understanding of electrical transmission systems
• Knowledge of proper grounding and EPZ
• Understanding of minimum approach distances
• Competent in proper steps to safely work out angle and dead-end structures
• Familiar with wire pulling equipment
• Hot stick experience preferred
• Own your own hand tools
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
