Job summary

Davis H. Elliot Company, Inc. is seeking a Journeyman Lineman to perform installation, construction, maintenance and repair of overhead electric transmission lines. Work locations vary from Central to Eastern KY with occasional overtime and travel expected.

Applicants must hold a valid Class A CDL and medical card, with 3–4 years of experience (4+ preferred). You must pass a background check and drug screening. Strong grounding knowledge and proper safety practices are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with Class A CDL and medical card.
• 3–4 years of experience required; 4+ years recommended.
• Strong understanding of electrical transmission systems.
• Knowledge of proper grounding and EPZ.
• Understanding of minimum approach distances.
• Proficient in rigging and safe work practices with angle and dead-end structures.
• Familiar with wire pulling equipment; hot stick experience preferred.
• Own your own hand tools.
• Criminal background check and drug screening required.

Job description

For over seven decades investor-owned utilities, municipalities, cooperatives, and others have entrusted their electrical construction and maintenance needs to Davis H. Elliot Company, Inc. (Elliot).

Elliot is a full-service electrical contractor specializing in overhead and underground distribution, transmission, substations, lighting, traffic signaling, utility locating and industrial/commercial services.

As a Journeyman Lineman you will be performing the installation, construction, maintenance, and repair of overhead electric transmission lines. Work locations vary from Central to Eastern KY with occasional overtime and travel expected.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license, Class A CDL, and medical card required
• 3-4 years of experience required
• 4+ years of experience recommended
• Must provide references and or documentation verifying experience
• Strong understanding of electrical transmission systems
• Knowledge of proper grounding and EPZ
• Understanding of minimum approach distancesProficient in rigging
• Competent in proper steps to safely work out angle and dead-end structures
• Familiar with wire pulling equipment
• Hot stick experience preferred
• Own your own hand tools
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
