Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) seeks a Trans Field Service Coordinator in Gilmer, TX to assist management and field personnel with safe work methods, best practices, and work plan administration. The role involves cost estimates, IT systems, and cross-area collaboration to share knowledge and improve field operations.

Travel will be extensive within assigned TFS Areas as you build subject-matter expertise in Station, P&C, or Transmission Line issues and support training initiatives.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management or related technical field and 1 year of utility field experience; or high school diploma or GED and 3 years of related utility field experience.
• Utility field experience includes Transmission or Distribution Line, Station, P&C or Technical Support; or maintenance/construction work, scheduling or project controls.

Responsibilities

• Review work practices for consistency across assigned TFS Areas.
• Assist with capital and/or maintenance work plan development and administration within goals and project requirements.
• Facilitate meetings to share ideas and develop uniform policies and procedures.
• Maintain TFS Area tool budgets and coordinate related training.
• Develop and improve data collection systems for assigned TFS Areas.
• Support TFS IT programs utilization and travel extensively to stay current with field issues.
• Assist in preparing cost estimates for non-routine work and projects.
• Coordinate securing rental equipment in assigned TFS Areas.

Education

Associate degree in engineering / related field

High school diploma or GED + 3 years utility field experience
