AECOM is seeking a Mid-level Environmental Planner - Transmission focus to join our Environmental Planning and Permitting team in the Midwest. This hybrid role can be based in Indianapolis, Chicago, Columbus, Cleveland, Minneapolis, St.

Louis, Kansas City, or Detroit offices, with flexibility for candidates across the Upper Midwest. You will lead or support environmental planning and permitting work for energy projects, including NEPA documentation, and help grow our Midwest portfolio by

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in environmental planning or related field.
A minimum of 4 years in electric transmission or renewable energy permitting.
Ability to travel and a valid driver’s license; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

Lead or support environmental planning and compliance for energy infrastructure projects.
Coordinate filings with state utility regulatory agencies and commissions for siting, routing, permitting, and certificate approval across Midwest jurisdictions.
Manage project schedules, budgets, invoicing, and client coordination for small to mid-sized projects.
Develop environmental documents and entitlements for energy sector projects, including NEPA analyses.
Support marketing, proposals, and cost estimates as a seller-doer.
Mentor and develop junior staff by reviewing work and providing guidance.
