Job summary

Ameren Transmission is seeking an Engineering & Construction Supervisor to oversee vendor-based construction of electric transmission lines and substations, and to maintain and modify existing facilities. The role requires strong leadership, safety focus, and collaboration with contractors.

The position includes travel, office and field work, and coordination with project stakeholders to ensure on-time, on-budget completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer license preferred.
• PMP, CCM and/or CPC certifications are a plus.
• 5+ years of transmission, distribution or project management experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite field management and coordination for electric transmission projects.
• Work independently in performing all aspects of construction management.
• Initiate and evaluate jobsite safety and quality control procedures; perform safety observations and audits.
• Maintain daily surveillance of construction activities; interpret specs and ensure contractor compliance.
• Facilitate regular construction progress meetings; document progress and resolve safety, cost, or schedule issues.
• Provide constructability input in planning and review of specs, schedule and outages.
• Assist with development of the critical path schedule for realistic activity durations.
• Complete detailed assessment of project requirements before contractor mobilization.
• Administer WPA, OSHA and environmental regulations and Ameren procedures.
• Liaise between internal and external stakeholders as required.

ENGINEERING & CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISOR (TRANSMISSION)

About The Position

The Engineering and Construction Supervisor is responsible for oversight and management of vendor based construction of electric transmission line and substation facilities or modifications and maintenance of existing transmission facilities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Provide onsite field management and coordination for electric Transmission projects.
• Works independently in performing all aspects of construction management.
• Initiate and evaluate jobsite safety and quality control procedures, address items as necessary. Perform and document safety and quality observations and audits.
• Maintain daily surveillance of construction activities to assess manpower, equipment, tools, material needs. Interpret and convey Ameren provided specifications, drawings and instructions to contractor. Ensure contractor compliance with same.
• Facilitate regular construction progress meetings to ensure contractor adherence to safety, quality, schedule, scope and budget. Document and provide progress reports of same. Address issues identified to resolve safety issues, cost overruns or schedule delays. Identify and resolve change requests.
• Provide constructability expertise in planning and review of specifications, schedule, outage planning and other activities to assure successful project completion and effective utilization of construction materials, resources and techniques.
• Assist the Project Manager and other project stakeholders with development of the critical path project schedule to ensure realistic and achievable construction activity duration and sequence.
• Complete a detailed assessment of project requirements, including but not limited to: material, construction access and restoration, construction techniques and jobsite security prior to contractor mobilization.
• Administer job working rules, workman's protection assurance (WPA), OSHA and environmental regulations, and ongoing Ameren operating procedures.
• Provide public relations and liaison between various parties and external stakeholder as required for construction work on Ameren projects.

Qualifications : Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university required. Professional Engineer License, PMP Certification, CCM and/or CPCpreferred.Fiveor more years oftransmission, distribution or project management experience is required.Supervisory or team/contractor leadership experience preferred

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

Knowledge of materials, methods and tools in the construction and maintenance of electric Transmission and Distribution facilities. Knowledge of general construction processes, principles and activities. Strong leadership, management, analytical, communication and human relations skills. Must be adaptable and flexible. Knowledge of safe work practices and ability to influence safe behaviors of contractors and others. The Engineering and Construction Supervisor works during normal business hours in an office and field environment. Overnight travel may be required multiple days per week, depending on location of construction projects. Subject to call-out and overtime as required for emergency storm restoration and project work.

Compensation Range:

$88,500.00 - $172,200.00

* This pay range encompasses multiple levels of the role. Career level and compensation depends upon applicant's credentials.

At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
