Job summary

Southwest Power Pool (SPP) seeks an Engineer I - Transmission Services in Little Rock, AR, to model the transmission system and support planning studies. You will work with internal teams, tariffs, external consultants, and stakeholders to ensure reliable system operation.

The role requires a calculus-based engineering degree, ABET accreditation, and basic familiarity with SPP policies, NAESB, FERC, and NERC. It offers an on-site schedule with two days in the office and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program; calculus-based field.
  • Eligibility to sit for the Professional Engineering exam.
  • Experience using Word, Excel and related office tools.

Responsibilities

  • Model the electrical transmission system and support engineering analyses.
  • Coordinate studies for transmission planning and tariff data coordination.
  • Develop basic understanding of SPP policies, NAESB, FERC and NERC docs.
  • Build positive stakeholder relationships and share results for feedback.
  • Provide basic technical support to meet project deadlines.
