Job summary

Southwest Power Pool in Little Rock, Arkansas, is seeking an Engineer I – Transmission Services to model the regional transmission system, perform engineering analyses, and coordinate studies with internal teams and external stakeholders. The role is full-time and on-site with a two-day-per-week in-office expectation.

A calculus-based engineering degree (ABET-accredited) and strong communication skills are required; PE is preferred.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree; calculus-based engineering field; Electrical/Computer/Industrial/Mechanical or Systems Engineering preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with excellent written and verbal communication.
• Familiarity with power systems analysis tools and related software is expected.

Responsibilities

• Model the regional transmission system and perform engineering analyses.
• Coordinate studies with internal teams, tariff customers, and external consultants.
• Support data collection, run studies, and share results for stakeholder feedback and consensus.
• Provide basic technical input and assist with time-sensitive project assignments as directed by senior staff.
• Promote SPP culture and adhere to policies and procedures.
