Job summary

Alliance Group Technologies Inc is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead complex electric utility transmission, distribution, and substation initiatives. You will guide planning, execution, and closeout while aligning with owner priorities and maintaining strict scope, schedule, and cost controls.

You will coordinate engineering, safety, and field teams, manage subcontractors, and ensure timely reporting, risk management, and compliant delivery across large-scale greenfield and retrofit

Qualifications

  • Experience managing utility transmission, distribution, substations, or electric infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of project controls, forecasting, scheduling, invoicing, and cost tracking.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple technical and construction stakeholders across owner, EPC, engineering, permitting, environmental, subcontractor, and field teams.
  • Working knowledge of safety, quality, constructability, materials management, and field execution practices in utility construction environments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, with the ability to manage owner communications and change order discussions professionally.

Responsibilities

  • Manage transmission line, distribution, and substation projects through planning, execution, monitoring, closeout.
  • Lead preconstruction planning, including laydown yard planning, utility coordination, subcontractor coordination, and material delivery sequencing.
  • Coordinate permitting, environmental, materials, engineering, construction, quality, and safety personnel to prevent delays.
  • Manage project schedules, work plans, forecast updates, progress reporting, invoicing, and cost tracking.
  • Ensure program deliverables are submitted accurately and on schedule.
  • Manage project communications, owner updates, issue resolution, change orders, documentation, and decision tracking.
  • Coordinate OPGW installation, splicing, testing, converter station interfaces, and SCADA/Telecom commissioning where applicable.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and field leadership to resolve constructability, quality, safety, schedule, and execution challenges.
  • Support subcontractor management, material logistics, safety audits, quality audits, lockout/tagout coordination, and field execution controls.
  • Experience with large-scale greenfield transmission line projects and substations.

Job description

The objective of this position is to deliver complex electric utility projects safely, efficiently, and in alignment with owner priorities, while maintaining strong control of scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, communication, and closeout requirements.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Manage transmission line, distribution, and substation projects through planning, execution, monitoring, closeout, and owner coordination
  • Lead preconstruction planning, including laydown yard planning, utility coordination, subcontractor coordination, and material delivery sequencing
  • Coordinate permitting, environmental, materials, engineering, construction, quality, and safety personnel to prevent unauthorized work, delays, and scope gaps
  • Manage project schedules, work plans, forecast updates, progress reporting, invoicing, and cost tracking for operational scopes such as staking, civil work, foundations, assembly, structure erection, wire stringing, reclamation, and closeout
  • Ensure program deliverables are submitted accurately and on schedule
  • Manage project communications, owner updates, issue resolution, change orders, documentation, and decision tracking
  • Coordinate OPGW installation, splicing, testing, converter station construction interfaces, and SCADA/Telecom commissioning activities where applicable
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and field leadership to resolve constructability, quality, safety, schedule, and execution challenges
  • Support subcontractor management, material logistics, safety audits, quality audits, lockout/tagout coordination, and field execution controls
  • Experience managing large-scale greenfield transmission line projects, including high-voltage or comparable transmission facilities
  • Experience with substation projects, including greenfield substations, ring bus configurations, capacitor banks, or comparable utility infrastructure
  • Experience supporting distribution reliability programs, overhead-to-underground conversion work, smart line device installation, substation expansion, and aging infrastructure replacement
  • Experience working directly with EPC project teams and coordinating from either the contractor side, owner side, or both
Required Qualifications
  • Demonstrated project management experience on utility transmission, distribution, substation, or electric infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of project controls, forecasting, scheduling, invoicing, cost tracking, field coordination, and deliverable management
  • Ability to coordinate multiple technical and construction stakeholders across owner, EPC, engineering, permitting, environmental, subcontractor, and field teams
  • Working knowledge of safety, quality, constructability, materials management, and field execution practices in utility construction environments
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to manage owner communications and change order discussions professionally
Preferred Qualification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline
  • Experience with Procore or similar project management platforms
  • Bilingual communication ability in English and Spanish is beneficial
  • Experience with converter station interfaces, OPGW, SCADA/Telecom, and commissioning coordination is preferred
