Job summary

Techserv seeks a Transmission Construction Representative to manage the construction of Transmission Lines and Transmission Stations, ensuring compliance with regulations and client standards. You will review plans, coordinate site activities, and generate progress reports while interfacing with databases for drawings, outages, safety, and environmental issues.

The role requires coordinating contractor duties, ensuring constructability, and providing quality feedback on materials and equipment,

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management (Construction supervision is a plus).
• ABET-accredited associate degree in electrical or civil engineering technology with 2 years of transmission line or substation experience (Construction supervision is a plus).
• High school diploma or GED with 6+ years of construction experience building Electric transmission/Distribution substations and Transmission lines (Construction supervision is a plus).
• Computer literate: able to efficiently utilize Microsoft Suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Willingness to work long hours in remote locations as required.
• Must pass a screening process (drug test, background check, and driving record).
• First Aid/CPR Training is a plus; OSHA 30 Certified is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate contractor's duties and assignments for construction of Transmission Lines or Transmission Station Facilities.
• Review Client Company's Plans, Drawings, and Specifications for constructability prior to construction and report potential issues.
• Provide construction site coordination to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local Regulations, and Company standards, programs, drawings, and specifications.
• Generate standard and ad-hoc construction progress reports as requested by the client.
• Interface with Client’s databases for Drawings and Specifications, Outages Management, and Safety/Environmental matters.
• Provide quality feedback on contractors, materials, and equipment.
• Material management: inspect, report shortages and damages, and coordinate delivery of materials to the job site.
• Coordinate required outages with the responsible Operation Center and manage Dispatching Authority orders as required.
• Maintain construction oversight for OSHA compliance under the company’s program.
• Provide estimates to authorize station or line transmission construction work by contract forces.
• Collaborate with the Project Team for successful project completion.

Job description

The Transmission ConstructionRepresentative will be responsible for performing duties and assignments associated with the construction of Transmission Lines or Transmission Station facilities. The Transmission Construction Representative will provide construction site management for the Transmission Station and/or Line construction projects to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local Regulations, and Client Company standards, programs, drawings, and specifications.

Essential Functions:

1. Responsible for coordinating contractor's duties and assignments associated with the construction of Transmission Lines or Transmission Station Facilities.
2. Review the Client Company's Plans, Drawings, and Specifications for constructability prior to the start of construction and report potential constructability issues.
3. Provide construction site coordination to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local Regulations, and Company standards, programs, drawings, and specifications.
   1. Generate standard and ad-hoc construction progress reports as requested by the client.
   2. Computer/Technology skills necessary to interface with Client’s databases

      2. Outage(s) Management

4. Provide quality performance feedback on contractors, materials, and equipment.
5. Material Management Duties as they relate to the transmission construction coordination, inspection, receipt, and delivery of material and equipment to the construction site.
   1. Inspect and check materials for shortages, timeliness, damages, and correctness. Prepare reports for appropriate corrective actions and coordinate delivery of materials to the job site.
6. Coordinate required outages with the responsible Operation Center and arrange for or accept Operating Orders from the Dispatching Authority as required.
7. Maintain construction oversight for OSHA compliance requirements in accordance with the company’s construction compliance oversight program.
8. Provide estimates as requested to allow authorization of station or line transmission construction work by contract forces, including verification of work performed.
9. Work and communicate with the entire Project Team to contribute to the successful completion of the project.
