Job summary

Ulteig is seeking a Transmission Civil/Structural Engineer Intern to support the Power Delivery T&D group. You will gain hands-on experience in designing high-voltage infrastructure from 69kV to 345kV, collaborating with engineers on transmission systems and performing basic structural analyses under supervision.

You’ll learn to apply industry tools like PLS-CADD and AutoCAD, contribute to drawings and reports, and may participate in field visits and training sessions.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil/structural/mechanical/electrical engineering with at least two years of coursework completed by Summer 2027.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Must be able to work full-time during Summer 2027 at one of our office locations.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers on the design of transmission systems including wood and steel poles, foundations, and overhead structures.
• Perform structural and foundation calculations under supervision.
• Support the development of complete transmission system designs using industry tools and standards.
• Learn and apply software such as PLS-CADD to support transmission line studies and layouts.
• Assist in preparing drawings, reports, and technical documentation.
• Participate in team meetings and gain exposure to the consulting engineering process.
• Opportunities may include field/site visits and professional training sessions.
