Job summary

Ulteig is seeking a Transmission Civil/Structural Engineer Intern in our Power Delivery - Transmission & Distribution group in Minnesota. This internship offers hands-on experience supporting design and analysis of high-voltage infrastructure from 69kV to 345kV, with exposure to real-world project deliverables and client interactions.

You will collaborate with engineers on transmission system design, perform structural calculations, learn PLS-CADD and AutoCAD, and gain familiarity with industry

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, with two years of coursework by Summer 2027.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; client-focused mindset.
• AutoCAD experience is a strong plus; familiarity with PLS-CADD helpful.
• Ability to commit full-time Summer 2027 at an office location.

Responsibilities

• Assist design of transmission systems including wood/steel poles, foundations, and overhead structures.
• Perform structural calculations under supervision.
• Support development of complete transmission designs using industry tools.
• Learn and apply PLS-CADD and AutoCAD for line studies and layouts.
• Assist in preparing drawings, reports, and project documentation.
• Participate in team meetings and site visits as needed.
