Job summary

GS2 | B Corp™ in Austin, TX, is seeking a Senior Transmission & Interconnection Engineer to own interconnection studies from initial request through system impact recommendations.

You will conduct steady-state, short circuit, and stability analyses, engage with ERCOT and neighboring entities, and influence capital projects while maintaining a balanced, hands-on workload.

Qualifications

• Experience in transmission or interconnection engineering for utilities, TSPs, or ISOs.
• ERCOT experience strongly preferred; PJM, MISO or CAISO also welcomed.
• Proficiency with power system studies and standards (NERC, FERC, ERCOT).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate new generation and large load interconnection requests and identify system impacts and upgrades.
• Conduct steady-state, short circuit, and stability studies to support interconnection decisions.
• Engage with interconnecting entities, ERCOT, and neighboring TSPs throughout the study process.

Senior Transmission & Interconnection Engineer

Austin, TX (Hybrid)

A well-established, Texas TSP is looking for a Senior Transmission & Interconnection Engineer to join a small, high-impact planning team, playing a key role in evaluating and enabling new generation and large load connections across its ERCOT-region network.

This is a genuinely hands-on role, ideal for an engineer who wants direct ownership of interconnection studies from initial request through to system impact recommendations, with real influence over how new generation, data centers, and large loads connect to the Texas grid.

What you'll do

• Evaluate new generation and large load interconnection requests, identifying system impacts and required upgrades
• Conduct steady-state, short circuit, and stability studies to support interconnection and capital investment decisions
• Engage directly with interconnecting entities, ERCOT, and neighboring TSPs throughout the study process
• Provide technical recommendations that directly shape how new projects connect to the transmission network

What you'll bring

• Experience in transmission or interconnection engineering at a utility, TSP, or ISO (ERCOT experience strongly preferred; PJM, MISO, or CAISO experience also welcomed)
• Experience with power system software including PSS/E
• Working knowledge of current NERC, FERC, and ERCOT standards
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent studies and stakeholder relationships
