Job summary

Railserve is hiring dependable and safety-focused Transloaders in Augusta to support daily rail and material handling operations at an industrial facility. This is a full-time, outdoor, hands-on role critical to keeping railcars moving safely and efficiently while supporting customer production and transloading operations.

This is an entry-level opportunity with training provided for individuals who are reliable, safety-minded, and willing to learn.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to pass physical, drug screen, and background check.
• Outdoor work in all weather conditions.
• Lift, carry, and handle equipment and materials.
• Climb on/off railcars, ladders and platforms.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Verify railcar numbers and placement according to instructions.
• Assist loading and unloading railcars using procedures.
• Connect and disconnect hoses, valves, and transfer equipment.
• Operate switches, derails, and trackside equipment.
• Control movement of equipment using radio communication, hand signals, and visual indicators.
• Couple and uncouple railcars and handle air hoses and wheel chocks.
• Apply and release hand brakes to secure equipment.
• Inspect equipment and work areas for safety and cleanliness.
• Monitor operations and report any issues, hazards, or equipment concerns.
• Assist with basic locomotive and rail operations as needed.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
