Road & Rail Services is hiring dependable, safety-focused Transload Operators to join our terminal operations team.
This could be a great opportunity for someone with experience in manufacturing, chemical plants, refineries, railroad operations, construction, industrial maintenance, warehousing, transportation, material handling, or other outdoor industrial environments.
Previous transloading experience is helpful, but we are also interested in mechanically inclined candidates who are comfortable learning new equipment and following detailed safety procedures.
What You'll Do
- Safely transfer hazardous and non-hazardous materials between railcars and tanker trucks
- Connect and disconnect hoses, fittings, valves, pumps, and transfer lines
- Inspect railcars, trucks, hoses, seals, valves, and transfer equipment before use
- Monitor product transfers to maintain proper flow and identify potential problems
- Climb railcars and tanker trailers to inspect, connect, and secure equipment
- Prepare products for transfer through heating, sparging, sampling, and other required processes
- Collect product samples and assist with quality checks when required
- Operate pumps, heaters, golf carts, small tractors, and other terminal equipment
- Perform routine equipment inspections and identify maintenance concerns
- Assist with preventive maintenance and basic mechanical repairsFollow company, customer, EPA, FRA, OSHA, and site-specific safety requirements

- Previous railroad, transloading, chemical, industrial, mechanical, manufacturing, or equipment-operation experience is a plus.
Physical & Work Requirements
This is a physically active outdoor position. Employees must be able to:
- Work outdoors in changing weather conditions
- Climb and work at heights of approximately 15–20 feet
- Frequently bend, kneel, squat, twist, reach, and climb
- Walk on gravel, ballast, and other uneven surfaces
- Walk up to 5 miles within a 3-hour period and occasionally up to 10 miles during a shift
- Lift, push, pull, or carry up to 60 pounds
- Safely handle hoses and industrial transfer equipment
- Wear required respiratory protection
- Wear full protective or hazmat equipment when required
- Hear, understand, and communicate safety instructions in an active industrial environment
