Please note :

• This is a -year assignment. Lab-based role at South San Francisco, CA.
• Looking for candidates with both computation and wet-lab NGS skillsets.
• Manager seeks candidates with a mix of analytics and wet-lab NGS expertise.
• Hep A Titer- Titer will be done post-offer when on assignment.
• NGS library preparation.

• Day-to-day :
• Data analysis and quality checks
• RNA isolation from samples
• Library preparation

• Strong molecular biology background
• Initial supervision by manager for training and capability assessment.
• The department performs gene expression profiling to support basic research, preclinical, and development activities, including translational biomarker work.
• The specific role is to provide gene expression support using qPCR and NGS technology.

Must Haves :

• Experience with liquid automation for RNA/DNA isolation and NGS library prep.
• Experience with multi-omics NGS platforms, low sorted cell populations, and/or single-cell RNAseq.
• Experience with NGS analysis data visualization software such as Cell Ranger or BioTuring.
• Familiarity with software: Illumina BaseSpace, Omicsoft, TIBCO Spotfire, Graphpad Prism, Ingenuity Pathway Analysis, Geneious.

Requirements :

This molecular biology position in the Molecular Profiling group involves gene expression profiling using targeted and NGS technologies to support research and biomarker work. The role demands an organized, motivated individual capable of multitasking in a collaborative environment.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

• RNA/DNA isolation from various tissues and cells from humans, non-human primates, and rodents.
• Targeted gene expression profiling using NanoString or other RT-qPCR systems.
• Library prep and QC for NGS platforms.
• NGS sequencing on Illumina MiSeq and Novaseq platforms.
• Presenting relevant data and results.

Qualifications :

• Degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or molecular biology plus relevant experience (+ years); Masters (+ years); PhD (- years).
• Knowledge of molecular biology techniques including RNA/DNA isolation and NGS library prep.
• Experience with QC platforms like Fragment analyzer, Bioanalyzer, or Tapestation.
• Experience with RT-qPCR methods and platforms.
• Familiarity with Illumina NGS platforms, specifically MiSeq and Novaseq.
• Ability to troubleshoot NGS protocols.
• Good communication skills and team-oriented attitude.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Preferred Skills and Experience :

• Experience with liquid automation for sample prep.
• Experience with multi-omics NGS, low sorted cells, or single-cell RNAseq.
• Experience with data visualization software like Cell Ranger or BioTuring.
