Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health in Boston is seeking a post-doctoral research fellow to join our translational research team to study mechanisms of inflammation and immunometabolism in steatotic liver diseases.

The project uses mouse models to explore inter-organ communication in multi-organ involvement of steatohepatitis, with emphasis on training early-career scientists in cutting-edge methods.

Qualifications

• Doctoral Degree or MD required.
• 0–1 year postdoctoral experience in academic or industrial lab setting preferred.
• Background in inflammation and immunology.

Responsibilities

• Abides by institutional policies related to health, safety, equal opportunity, data storage and management.
• Works under supervision of a PI while developing independent research skills.
• Receives training and performs experiments, designs questions, and evaluates results.
• Prepares and publishes scientific manuscripts under PI guidance.
• Develops desired lab skills, informatics, physics or clinical research, and increases independence over time.
• Generates new ideas to advance the research program and collaborates with others.
• Provides supervision of students/projects when appropriate and participates in seminars.
• Attends and leads scientific meetings and collaborates with other groups.
• Identifies and corrects deficiencies and pursues independent funding near end of fellowship.
