Job summary

Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford seeks a Translation Program Coordinator to develop, coordinate and manage translation services for staff, interns and volunteers. Conducts medical and general interpreting/translating for staff, patients, and families and ensures translation processes follow department guidelines.

The role requires high verbal and written skills in English and appropriate language, ATA certification, and collaboration with external partners to deliver timely

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university.
• Three (3) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience.
• ATA certification required. ATA certification may be waived with a master's degree in Translation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates workflow of translation assignments and ensures successful completion of all projects.
• Develops policies, financial planning and organization of the translation program.
• Edits translations and provides feedback to the translation team.
• Ensures translation process is followed according to department guidelines.
• Handles requests for translations from external customers including other hospitals and organizations.
• Manages procedure, payment, and delivery timeframe with clients.
• Coordinates with outside contractors for certain languages and vendors.
• Responsible for invoicing, billing and collection upon delivery of final product.
• Assigns work orders to in-house translators and ensures language quality.
