We are currently seeking Transitional Workers to support our Manufacturing and Logistics operations at our Shippensburg, Pennsylvania manufacturing facility. In this role, you will contribute to the safe and efficient production of world-class construction equipment while working in a team-oriented environment that values safety, quality, respect, and continuous improvement.

This is a full-time 1st shift temporary assignment which will be payrolled through a temporary agency (i.e., you will be employed directly by a temporary employment agency). As a Transitional Worker, you will gain hands‑on manufacturing experience with a global industry leader. Based on business needs, performance, and available openings, employees may be considered for future opportunities with Volvo Construction Equipment.

Depending on business needs and assignment, employees may perform work in Assembly or Assembly.

Assembly Duties
  • Assemble components and subassemblies according to work instructions and quality standards.
  • Read and follow assembly drawings, work instructions, and production documentation.
  • Safely use hand tools, power tools, gauges, and other assembly equipment.
  • Perform quality checks throughout the assembly process.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Logistics Duties
  • Supply production lines with parts and materials needed to support manufacturing operations.
  • Receive, store, transport, and replenish materials throughout the facility.
  • Accurately complete inventory transactions and material movements.
  • Operate powered industrial equipment following company training and safety requirements.
  • Support inventory accuracy through cycle counting and material audits.
  • Maintain material flow to ensure production schedules are met.

Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred
  • Previous manufacturing, assembly, logistics, warehouse, or material handling experience.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, or assembly equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, work instructions, or production documentation.
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail.
  • Experience operating powered industrial equipment.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand and walk for extended periods during the work shift.
  • Frequently use hands and fingers to grasp, handle, assemble, inspect, and move materials and components.
  • Perform repetitive motions involving the hands, wrists, arms, and shoulders.
  • Frequently reach, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and twist.
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Work at varying heights and reach above shoulder level as required.
  • Safely operate tools, machinery, and material handling equipment.
  • Visually inspect parts, labels, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Work in a manufacturing environment that may include exposure to moving equipment, vibration, noise, temperature fluctuations, dust, and other industrial conditions while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Work overtime, weekends, or alternative schedules as business needs require.
