Job summary

PeaceHealth is seeking a Pharmacy Technician - Transitional Care for a Part Time, 0.80 FTE, Variable position. Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, you will perform clerical and technical tasks to assist in pharmaceutical care with accuracy and customer service as core.

You may also handle receiving and stores clerk duties. The role requires obtaining WA certification upon hire, with experience in hospital settings and unit-dose processing.

Qualifications

• Must have or be eligible for Washington Pharmacy Technician license.
• Experience in hospital pharmacy with unit dose and IV admixtures preferred.
• Demonstrated customer service skills are required.
• Upon hire, Washington Pharmacy Technician Certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Enter inpatient orders/prescriptions into the computer and prepare labels for pharmacist review.
• Answer calls and direct to appropriate personnel within legal guidelines.
• Inspect medications for outdates in patient care areas and Pyxis stations quarterly.
• Prepare IVs, PCA, Epidurals and label IV products; prepare chemotherapeutic IV meds as requested.
• Package drugs into unit-dose packaging and maintain packaging records.
• Deliver medications and IVs to patient care areas and handle controlled substances inventories.
