Job Summary:
Join our compassionate and collaborative team as a Co-Occurring Disorder Counselor, where you will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals facing substance use disorders. In this role, you will provide essential therapy and support, helping clients improve their daily functioning and achieve their recovery goals. We are looking for dedicated professionals who are skilled in motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral approaches, and who are passionate about empowering others on their journey to recovery. Your expertise will play a vital role in transforming lives and fostering a supportive community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide co-occurring disorder therapy, both individual and group, to clients in a community/home setting.
  • Complete the intake/screening/assessment process within designated time frames as per state regulatory/accrediting body standards.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment information, adhering to state guidelines.
  • Participate in clinical staffing/treatment team meetings, offering feedback on pertinent cases.
  • Document all services provided in accordance with state regulatory/accrediting body standards, ensuring timely and accurate entries.
  • Assist clients through the transition process, completing necessary correspondence such as transition summaries and plans.
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients, referral sources, and coworkers, adhering to the Code of Ethics and agency policies.
  • Facilitate group counseling, education sessions, and family conferences focused on substance use recovery.
  • Perform crisis intervention as needed and attend daily staff meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Clinical Supervisor, Program Director, Vice President, or Executive Team members.

Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:

  • Hold the credentials of a Qualified Addiction Professional as defined by the Missouri Credentialing Board, Inc. (MCB) or a Qualified Mental Health Professional.
  • Individual with a master’s or bachelor’s degree in a human services field (non-licensed) and/or is certified/credentialed to provide services within their scope of practice.
  • If less than one year of experience in ITCD, must be actively acquiring 24 hours of training in ITCD specific content and receive supervision from experienced ITCD staff.
  • Willingness to become credentialed in additional states and provide telehealth services.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Must have a current driver’s license in the state of residency, an acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance.
  • Successful completion of background checks including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint checks.
  • First Aid and CPR certification within three (3) months of beginning employment.
  • Completion of Behavioral Management training within thirty (30) days of employment.
  • Provide a copy of applicable certifications/licenses.

Physical Requirements:

  • ADA Consideration - Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods.
