Job summary

Saint Clare's Health is seeking a Transition to Practice Educator to support new nurses during orientation and beyond. You will provide targeted educational guidance, hands-on coaching, and mentorship to ensure a smooth transition into practice within our clinical units.

You will work as a clinical liaison with education and nursing leadership, evaluating performance and coordinating resources to close knowledge gaps and accelerate competency, thereby improving patient outcomes and staff

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state.
• Current BLS (ARC or AHA) certificate.
• Minimum of 2 years acute care experience.
• Minimum of 1 year preceptor experience.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide continued educational support, training and mentoring to new nurses in the clinical area.
• Coordinate needs and resources for each new nurse by follow up during and after orientation.
• Act as a clinical liaison between education and clinical managers/coordinators to facilitate timely release from orientation.
• Address knowledge and skill deficits by coordinating available resources for each new nurse.

Responsibilities

The Transition to Practice Educator provides continued educational support, training and mentoring to new nurses in the clinical area. Ensuring a smooth transition to practice by providing unit-based support, coordinating the needs and resources for each new nurse by follow up during and after the orientation period. The Transition to Practice Educator will serve as a clinical liaison between education and clinical managers/coordinators to facilitate a timely release from orientation by assessing needs and performance in live time. Once needs are identified, targeted knowledge and skill deficits can be addressed through the coordination of available resources. Addressing the specific needs of each new nurse will ensure their role development success as well as enhance patient outcomes.

Qualifications

1. Must have a current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State.
2. Current BLS (ARC or AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
3. Minimum of 2 years acute care experience.
4. Minimum of 1 year preceptor experience
5. BSN preferred

Benefits may vary based on employment status, i.e. full-time, part-time, per diem or temporary. A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $83,200.00 to $103,646.00 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
