An established industry player is seeking a Transition Employment Specialist to empower youth with disabilities in their journey toward post-secondary education and independent living. Under the supervision of the IDD Supported Employment Program Administrator, the Transition Employment Specialist will work with youth aged 16-22 with ID/DD and collaborative partners to strengthen the employment transition system within Collin County. The goal is to increase the number of youths with disabilities pursuing and achieving post-secondary education, careers, and independent living aspirations. Responsibilities include teaching employability skills, understanding work culture, networking with local employers for work experiences, supporting individuals on work sites, and participating in collaborative meetings with schools, community resources, and employers.

Additional requirements include completion of an approved Job Coach / Job Skills Trainer Credential and Job Placement Specialist Credential within 90 days of employment, and maintaining all required UNTWISE certifications and CEUs.
