Job summary

King County Metro is seeking a Transit Technology Project Management Team Manager to lead a team of transit technology project managers, drive strategic planning, and oversee multi‑million dollar technology portfolios. The role focuses on program management, workforce development, and governance within a modern IT operating model.

You will manage budgets, procurement, and vendor relationships, while guiding the division toward SaaS adoption and enterprise platforms that support mobility services

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business Administration, or related field.
• Ten years of IT project management experience including operations and infrastructure.
• Five years in IT management/leadership, coaching and performance development.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of transit technology project managers.
• Provide guidance to supervisors and technology groups within the section.
• Drive outcome-based thinking and clear decision-making in ambiguous environments.
• Conduct performance reviews and support staff growth within modernization efforts.
• Shape strategy and advise on policies, not just manage tasks or projects.
• Oversee personnel administration including hiring, leave, and workload balancing.
• Maintain relationships with bargaining units and manage labor relations.
• Oversee procurement, contracting, and vendor management for technology projects.
• Ensure alignment of technology operations with policy and budgeting.
