Job summary

Arlington County seeks a transit planning and analysis professional to support planning, analysis, and performance management of Arlington County's transit services.

You will collaborate with planners, operations staff, and external stakeholders to analyze service performance; develop data-informed recommendations; and support initiatives that improve transit reliability, efficiency, and customer experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in transportation, urban planning, logistics, public administration, business administration, or a related field.
• Considerable experience supporting transit, transportation, or service analysis, planning, or operations.
• A Master's degree or higher may substitute for some experience.
• Preference for experience or licensure in transit service planning, reports for planning/public engagement, data visualization, regional transit knowledge, and driver’s license.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in transportation, urban planning, logistics, public administration, business administration, or a related field;
• Considerable experience supporting transit, transportation, or service analysis, planning, or operations.
• Additional qualifying experience can be substituted for the educational requirement. A Master's degree or higher may be substituted for some of the experience requirement.
• Preference may be given to applicants that possess experience or licensure in one or more of the following:
  • Transit service planning, operations analysis, or performance measurement;
  • Preparing reports, maps, or presentations for planning or public engagement purposes;
  • Analyzing and visualizing data using spreadsheets, databases, or GIS tools;
  • Knowledge of regional transit systems or local government operations;
  • Managing multiple priorities and coordinating across internal and external stakeholders;
  • A current valid Driver's License.
