Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced leader to head Arlington County’s transportation engineering and operations programs. You will guide planning, design, and maintenance of critical systems while advancing Vision Zero through data-driven analysis.

The role requires PE licensure, a strong background in traffic engineering and transportation planning, and proven management skills to oversee development reviews and curb-space programs during events and emergencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Significant and progressively responsible experience in Traffic Engineering, Transportation Planning, or Parking Administration.
• Registered as a PE in Virginia or reciprocal licensure from another state.

• Provide enterprise-level leadership for Arlington County’s transportation engineering and operations programs.
• Oversee the planning, implementation, operation, and maintenance of critical transportation systems.
• Advance roadway safety and Vision Zero goals through data-driven analysis.

Requirements

• Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Virginia or currently licensed in another state with reciprocity.
