Job summary

Sound Transit in Seattle, WA seeks a Transportation Safety & Security Specialist to support the agency’s safety and security mission within a hybrid work model. Under Direction from the Safety Manager, you will help develop policies, oversee safety activities, and coordinate with local responders and federal partners.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least four years of experience in safety and security programs, with strong analytical, reporting, and communication

• Experience conducting safety assessments and vulnerability analyses; developing protective systems.
• Strong communication, reporting, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing safety and security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Oversee day-to-day safety and security activities across facilities and rail alignments.
• Coordinate with local, state, and federal partners on safety and security matters.
• Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with regulations; prepare reports and remedial recommendations.
