Job summary

AASHTO is hiring a Program Manager for Transit Policy in our Washington, DC office. The role oversees the Council on Public Transportation’s policy and technical activities and coordinates a variety of task forces and conferences to support public transportation nationwide.

The ideal candidate has six years of progressive experience, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and strong written and oral communication, research, and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of six years of professional experience in a relevant field.
• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in urban planning, public policy, or public administration.
• Excellent written and oral communication, research and analysis skills; ability to set work program priorities and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Lead policy and technical activities for the Council on Public Transportation.
• Develop and implement transit-related task forces and provide technical assistance to state DOTs.
• Coordinate communications, manage newsletters, maintain the website, and organize meetings and conferences.
