Job summary

AASHTO, based in Washington, DC, is hiring a Program Manager for Transit Policy, a full-time position in our DC office. The Program Manager will oversee policy and technical activities for the Council on Public Transportation and will work with the Program Director for Multimodal Transportation.

The role includes developing and administering task forces, coordinating communications, and managing newsletters and the state DOT relationships, while recruiting members and supporting conferences.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of six years of professional experience in transit policy or related transportation fields.
  • Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, public policy, public administration, or transportation field.
  • Evidence of strong written and oral communication, research, and analysis skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement public transportation task forces for the Council on Public Transportation.
  • Coordinate communications and maintain the AASHTO Transit Management website and newsletters.
  • Recruit and support task forces, facilitate peer exchanges, webinars, and meetings.
  • Monitor program budget and travel accounts for two national conferences.
