Job summary

TransitCenter in New York City seeks a Program Associate or Senior Program Associate to join its team and help improve transit systems across major U.S. cities.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of professional experience with urban transportation policy, planning and/or operations.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• fluency with data sets and information sources pertinent to urban transportation; dexterity in compiling, analyzing, depicting and communicating about them.
• Experience using Excel and GIS in project work.

Responsibilities

• Advise transit agency staff on recommended practices and reform adoption.
• Stay abreast of latest transit trends and issues in the U.S.
• Analyze transportation datasets to initiate changes in planning or practice at transit agencies.
• Integrate transit data with housing, poverty, or air pollution indicators to show socio-economic or environmental impact.
• Collaborate with government and civic allies to drive improved transit performance and policies.
• Prepare presentations, speeches and articles for TransitCenter and partners.
• Oversee program consultants and contribute to operations and events.
