Job summary

KCATA is seeking a Bus Driver (Operator) in Kansas City, MO. As a Bus Operator you will drive state-of-the-art buses, provide friendly customer service, and help riders make reliable connections across the metropolitan area.

No experience required; CDL training provided; you will train to obtain Class B CDL with passenger endorsement. Full-time positions with benefits, paid training, and opportunities for wage growth.

Qualifications

• Age 21 or older.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Driver’s License with excellent driving record.
• Ability to pass MVR, background check, DOT physical and drug screening (paid by KCATA).
• Class B CDL Permit OR Class B CDL with passenger endorsement and no airbrake restriction (training provided).
• Prompt and reliable attendance.
• Neat appearance; dress code.
• Customer service oriented with a positive attitude.
• Open availability for flexible scheduling based on seniority.

Responsibilities

• Operate and drive a transit vehicle safely, courteously, and reliably in the Kansas City metro area.
• Build relationships with riders and load/unload at designated stops.
• Navigate the transit system and assist residents and visitors.
