Job summary

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority invites motivated students to join the Deputy General Manager’s Office as a summer intern, gaining hands-on experience across operations, safety, IT, and planning while supporting critical programs. You will compile and analyze data, help prepare reports and presentations, coordinate meetings, and engage with stakeholders across departments.

Qualifications

• Must be a current student enrolled in an accredited college or university.
• Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA required.
• Must have completed freshman year and be entering sophomore year.
• Internship is limited to a summer period not exceeding 13 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Compile, review and analyze data; use PC to input and generate reports.
• Assist in preparing management, operations, and administrative reports.
• Produce work products such as presentations and data visuals for assigned department.
• Identify issues from reports and suggest solutions under guidance.
• Attend trainings and departmental/office meetings to gain exposure to transit functions.
• Participate in and/or lead departmental meetings and work sessions.
