Job summary

The City of Fredericksburg, Virginia, seeks a part-time Marketing Coordinator to support marketing, communications, public information, and community outreach for Fredericksburg Transit.

This role helps create newsletters, update social media, manage web content, produce brochures and flyers, and assist with public timetables and customer communications, while coordinating events and daily administrative duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s degree or college coursework in marketing, communication, public relations, graphic design, business, or related field preferred.
• Proficient with CANVA, Social Media (Facebook, Twitter) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• A valid Virginia Driver’s license.
• An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Communications and Marketing Support: assist in campaigns, newsletters, and social media planning.
• Public Engagement and Distribution: support timetables, displays, and customer alerts.
• Content Creation and Management: take photos/videos, manage signage, brochures, and intranet content.
• Administrative and Miscellaneous Duties: manage calendars and other duties.
