Job summary

New York City Transit seeks a Light Maintainer to install, inspect, test, alter, and repair lighting and electrical systems across subway facilities, depots, yards, and buildings.

Qualifications

• Completion of a four-year full-time apprenticeship in electrical, electronic, or electro-mechanical trade.
• Three years of electrical experience installing, maintaining, and repairing lighting systems, conduit work, wiring, and fixtures (two years at journey level).
• Education substitutions: 600 hours from trade/school, vocational high school, or an AAS degree in related field.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, test, alter, maintain and repair lighting and electrical systems in facilities.
• Keep records and operate vehicles as needed.
• Work on tracks, outdoors in all weather, and on elevated structures.
