Job summary

RTS - Regional Transit Service in Rochester, NY is seeking a Technician I, Garage Days Alignments to perform front-wheel alignments, preventive maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on RTS buses and fleet vehicles.

You will ensure safety and reliability, operate diagnostic software, and contribute to maintenance programs. The role offers day shifts with opportunities for growth and a strong union environment.

Qualifications

• Two years in a diesel mechanics program or comparable technical coursework.
• Equivalent verifiable work experience (two years may substitute for one year of education).
• Must provide own tools; CDL requirements and safety training as listed in the job posting.

Responsibilities

• Perform front-wheel alignments to maximize tire life on buses and fleet vehicles.
• Maintain, repair, and overhaul RTS buses and fleet vehicles.
• Perform inspections, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance.
• Replace, adjust, and repair mechanical components.
• Complete required test drives following repairs.
• Operate diagnostic software such as Cummins InSite and Allison systems.
• Report safety concerns and maintenance issues to supervisors.
• Maintain accurate maintenance documentation.
