Job summary

Regional Transit Service (RTS) in Rochester seeks a Technician I, Garage Days – Alignments to perform front-wheel alignments, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on RTS buses and fleet vehicles. You will ensure safety, reliability, and daily service readiness.

Starting pay is $33.17 per hour with a top rate of $41.48 per hour within three years, plus benefits and weekly pay. Training on current vehicle technologies and tool/boot allowances are provided.

Qualifications

• Two years in an accredited diesel mechanics program or equivalent experience are required.
• Must obtain NY CDL Class B permit with passenger and air brake endorsements before employment.
• Must obtain CDL Class B license within 90 days of hire; CDL Class A permit and license within 90 days after the permit.
• Must provide own tools and have strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform front-wheel alignments on various bus sizes and fleet vehicles.
• Maintain, repair, and overhaul RTS buses and fleet vehicles.
• Conduct inspections, diagnostics and preventive maintenance.
• Operate diagnostic software and welding/cutting as needed.
• Document maintenance activities accurately.
