Job summary

Liberty Lines in Valhalla, NY seeks an Electronic Technician to apply electronics principles to install, test, troubleshoot, and repair all electronic systems and equipment on buses and vehicles.

The role focuses on preventive maintenance of fare boxes, GPS, APC, radio systems, and related wiring. Requires 1 year in electrical/mechanical installation and a valid NYS driver’s license; some college preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED; some college is preferred.
• Minimum 1 year experience with electrical and mechanical installations.
• Valid NYS driver's license with clean driving record.
• Knowledge of diagnostic equipment and testing methods for electronic systems.
• Experience with radio communication equipment and circuit boards.

Responsibilities

• Preventive maintenance and repair of fare boxes and related electronics.
• Maintain voice announcements, GPS, APC, and radio equipment.
• Test, troubleshoot, replace, and document faulty equipment promptly.
• Repair and install wiring for new and existing equipment.
• Install radio equipment in vehicles and maintain safety standards.
• Collaborate with vendors and other professionals on technical tasks.
• Read and interpret manuals and diagrams; work with Windows OS computers.
