Qualifications

  • Five years of full-time satisfactory experience as an electrician, or three years plus educational qualifications as stated.
  • License requirements: NY Motor Vehicle Driver License; additional licenses/certificates may be required for special electrician duties.
  • New York State driver’s license preferred; must be maintained during employment.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring systems, traffic signals, surveillance cameras, controllers, and related equipment per NYC Electrical Code and job orders.
  • Conduct diagnostic tests to identify faults and perform necessary repairs.
  • Serve as field representative to resolve construction-related electrical issues for city facilities and external infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with contractors on large-scale multi-million-dollar projects and document construction processes for records.
  • Interpret specifications to order electrical equipment and supplies, including video and fiber optic components.
