Job summary

RATP Dev USA in Columbia, SC is seeking a dependable Transit Bus Driver. You will safely operate buses on city and highway routes, assist passengers, and deliver consistent, courteous service while following posted schedules.

Paid training begins on day one, with new-hire incentives including a $2000 CDL endorsement bonus (and others), plus referral bonuses. Candidates must have a high school diploma, a SC license, and pass a DOT physical.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CDL A or B with Passenger Endorsement preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years old and pass a DOT physical.
• SC Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Safely operates buses on city and freeway routes.
• Assists passengers in a safe, friendly manner, including passengers with disabilities.
• Performs pre-trip inspections and adheres to FMCSR and safety procedures.
• Counts fares and ensures accurate passenger handling and safety equipment operation.

New Hourly rate of $19.00/HR

CDL A/B with Passenger Endorsement Prior to Hire of $2000

• $1000 after 90 days of employment or upon the release into revenue service
• $1000 after 180 days of employment (must be in good standings with attendance)

CDL A/B without Passenger Endorsement Prior to Hire of $1500

• $750after 90 days of employment or upon the release into revenue service
• $750after 180 days of employment (must be in good standings with attendance)

Non-CDL (Eaglet Program) of $1000

• $500after 90 days of employment or upon the release into revenue service
• $500after 180 days of employment (must be in good standings with attendance)

Employee Referral Bonus program :

Requirements and Responsibility of the Transit Driver

• Actsas front-line point of contact to ensure delivery of quality customerservice.
• Safelyoperates several types of buses through light to heavy city and freewaytraffic safely and prudently.
• Passengers safely andcourteously according to specified routes. To ensure optimization of allroutes, the Bus Driver may make only designated stops in the orderprescribed, unless otherwise communicated by the Dispatch Office.
• Complieswith all federal, state, and local laws about the operation ofbuses, traffic, and safety.
• Ensures the highest quality of bus service isdelivered to our customers.
• Assistscustomers in a safe, friendly, courteous, and helpful manner. This includeshelping customers with disabilities, on and off the wheelchair lift. Asrequested by the customer, the Bus Driver will assist with safety restraints.
• Promotes safety awareness andfollows safety procedures to reduce or eliminate accidents.
• Complieswith all company safety rules and operates assigned vehicles to meetcustomer standards.
• Must be able to operate all equipment safely, efficiently, and adequately, including farebox, lift, radio, emergency equipment,hatches, and rear engine compartment door.
• Performs pre-trip inspection and completes DVIR in accordance withFMCSR to ensure bus and equipment are in safe, proper working condition.
• Coordinates detour, accident, and incident information to radiodispatch, and responds to instructions given.
• Makeseffective independent decisions and manages conflicts based on safety,experience, training, and policies.
• Follows procedures for thecollection, processing, and documentation of fares and counting passengersas required.
• Reports and properlyfollow up on all accidents or unusual incidents in, on, or near RATP Devvehicles
• Other duties as required
• Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
• requires the candidate to pass a DOT Physical exam
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Bus driving experience highly preferred

Must have a SC License

CDL with Passenger Endorsement preferred (will train the right candidate)
