Job summary

The City of Wilsonville’s SMART Transit is hiring a Transit Driver to operate buses safely and efficiently for the community. You will drive scheduled routes, assist passengers, perform inspections, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Training for Class B CDL with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements is provided, with CDL requirements pursued after hire. Ideal candidates are dependable, have strong customer service skills, and can work independently while collaborating with a supportive

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of commercial bus driving training program.
• Six months of on-the-job training in a Transit Department or six months driving public transportation vehicles.
• Possession of a valid driver's license; CDL with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements required or CDL permit with training planned.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and efficient transportation for Transit Department patrons.
• Operate bus on scheduled routes and handle dispatch requests.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and keep accurate logs.
• Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to safety procedures.
