Job summary

Summit Stage in Summit County, CO, is seeking qualified bus drivers to operate fixed-route and para-transit services and to keep the transit system running smoothly. The role requires assigning routes, managing equipment, and delivering professional customer service across shifts.

Applicants must have a High School diploma, at least three years in public transit, and pass drug/alcohol screening plus DOT medical certification.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate a transit bus safely.
• Must complete Summit Stage Driver Training.
• Flexibility to work shifts including days, nights, weekdays and weekends.

Job description

Direct fixed-route and para-transit bus drivers, assign routes and equipment, and keep Summit Stage transit system operational at all times.

• High School diploma plus minimum three years’ experience in public transit.
• Have extensive knowledge of the Summit Stage transit system.
• General knowledge of transit vehicle maintenance issues.
• Some computer knowledge, including MS Office, is required.
• Professional and friendly customer service personality.
• Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and DOT medical certification as required by the US Department of Transportation.
• Must have the physical ability to safely operate a transit bus.
• Will be required to pass the Summit Stage Driver Training program.
• Must be able to work independently and be willing to work shifts that vary from day to night, weekdays and weekends.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES:

• Must pass the Summit Stage driver training program.
• Class B CDL with passenger endorsement and no restrictions on air brakes required for duration of employment.
